Historically in Hawaii, the engineering community has developed a large amount of knowledge in designing structures with masonry. From school buildings to high-rise apartment buildings, masonry has been designed and built to last.

Engineering scholars, like James Amerheim and Michael W. Merrigan have passed on their knowledge to a host of engineers in the State of Hawaii. Today we carry on this tradition by bringing in foremost experts on concrete masonry, like Ed Houston, John Chrysler, and John Tawresey.

In addition to speakers, we have provided books, manuals, technical assistance and design software to assist the design community.
