Historically in Hawaii,
the engineering community has developed a large amount of knowledge in
designing structures with masonry. From
school buildings to high-rise apartment buildings, masonry has been designed
and built to last. Engineering scholars, like James Amerheim and Michael W.
Merrigan have passed on their knowledge to a host of engineers in the State of Hawaii. Today we carry on this tradition by bringing
in foremost experts on concrete masonry, like Ed Houston, John Chrysler, and
John Tawresey.
