A pimary goal of MIH is to educate architects, designers, engineers, field inspectors, and contractors in the state-of-art use of masonry products and techniques via
seminars, demonstrations and various presentations.
MIH encourages new generations of of artisans in the tradional building
arts to foster exceptional craftsmanshipas well as the preservation, enrichment,
and appreciation of our architectual heritage.

The MIH/MCAH golf committee awarded three $1500 one-time
scholarships to deserving students for school year 2006-2007, whose parents were
a member of any one of the following organizations:
1. Laborer’s
Union
2. Structural
Engineers Assoc. of Hawaii(SEAOH)
3. American
Institute of Architects of Hawaii(AIA)
4. Mason
Contractors Association of Hawaii(MCAH)
The candidates were required to attend any accredited college or university in the United States and be a full time
incoming freshmen, sophomore, junior or senior student. The organization considered students who had
excelled in school, had a need for financial aid to complete their education,
and has been a positive contribution to their community.
The three winners were:

Alison
Gadow – Tokunaga Masonry
Amy
Matsunaga- Urban Works AIA
For next year, the committee decided to expand this
scholarship to graduate students whose parents belong to the aforementioned
organizations.
